Blog info

In a fast paced interconnected world of new technologies and human mobility it is imperative for students to gain and expand their technological skills whilst becoming familiar with other cultures and feeling better living in a multicultural globalized context.

This blog introduces the students to key-aspects of the British culture, including geography, history, language and popular culture. It was designed out of the necessity for a concise introduction to British culture for students in Primary and Secondary education at B1-B2 English language level. Its goals are to familiarize students with the territories of the British Empire, British history and the Royal family tree, explore aspects of the English language and present behaviors and patterns related to popular culture. In addition, it aims at developing the students’ skills in new technologies and facilitating their understanding and appreciation of other cultures.

The blog consists of four modules, each exploring a different aspect of the British culture, as aforementioned. Students are expected to study the material and complete various tasks, which are all collected in an e-portfolio for evaluation and future reference, as a useful starting tool for anyone interested in the topic.

New posts will be added frequently, as supplementary study material.
